Samir Patel has been active in the private equity business for the past 15 years. He has invested in numerous industries including real estate, technology/software, bio tech, entertainment, food & beverage and consumer product goods.
Samir has invested in over a billion dollars of transactions and helped raise over $500 million of equity. He is a partner at Cambridge SPG and also a Principal and Co-Founder of IRA Capital. His primary responsibilities at IRA including sourcing of transactions, equity and debt for IRA’s various investment programs throughout the country.
Prior to his ventures in private equity, Samir worked as an investment banking financial analyst at HSBC’s Debt Capital Markets Group in London and New York. He also worked at the Financial Restructuring Group for Houlihan Lokey Howard and Zukin in Chicago and Los Angeles. Samir has worked on numerous restructurings, distressed mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, private placements, and valuations for corporations in and out of bankruptcy. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and has a Masters in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California. Samir is actively involved in numerous real estate organizations and is also a frequent guest speaker.
